
MEET THE MAKERS.
Working with other makers is an integral part to Francesca's work. From the craftspeople behind the hand-woven fabric to the techniques learnt from textile technicians, Francesca has been able to see what craftsmanship individually means to her. Here are some of the makers behind the products.


Martin
Our digital technician at Edinburgh College of Art, helping to coat handwoven fabrics to be digital printed. As well as teaching CAD embroidery to add contemporary elements to traditonal textiles.

Sally
Textile technician at Edinburgh College of Art. Teaching dyeing fabrics, and why different fibres react differently. Francesca has gained confidence and knowledge working alongisde Sally in the dye lab.

Fiona
Textile technician at Edinburgh College of Art. Assisting in screen printing, and composition decisions, whilst showing ways to work correctly when printing with dyes and technical advice.

Offset Warehouse
A lot of the fabric Francesca works with has come from Offset Warehouse who sell beautiful hand woven fabric which has been fairly sourced.

The Organic Textile Company
Use GOTS certified mills in India and China to produce fabrics without the use of harmful pesticides, and a fair working wage.

The Cloth House
Working with craftspeople in India, Francesca has managed to source a lot of her fabric from The Cloth House.

Jaipur Block Printers
Initial inspiration in India, seeing the love of block printing and natural dyeing in practice has been helpful in research and the design process.

My Mother
Francesca's mother, Sally has been a huge inspiration behind her work. She taught her the skills of hand embroidery to neatly finish textiles and add detail.

Kalopsia Collective
Kalopsia Collective have been part of the process from the beginning. Instrumental to the products created for Francesca, the team at Kalopsia use zero waste pattern cutting techniques to create apparel.
